This role offers the possibility of full-time telework.

Why is this role important?

You will play an active role in creating innovative projects on Radio-Canada\xe2\x80\x99s major platforms, such as ICI TOU.TV, Radio-Canada.ca and OHdio. Your responsibilities as part of the team will include planning, prototyping, implementing, unit testing and supporting enhancements, feature requests, bug fixes and, of course, documentation.

How you will make an impact:

  • Design and/or modify reusable components for Radio-Canada\xe2\x80\x99s digital platforms.
  • Design and/or modify presentation APIs in conjunction with back-end specialists and architects.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and control product quality throughout the project.
  • Keep up with the latest trends in the various digital development fields.
  • Be proactive and suggest solutions to challenges that arise.
  • Participate in Agile Scrum activities in order to review progress on projects in production and make the necessary corrections/adjustments, or to gauge the results of completed projects.
Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following:
  • Experience developing complex, high-performance apps.
  • Proficiency with the Kotlin programming language.
  • An app published on Google Play an asset.
  • Ability to read, produce and follow software architecture diagrams (UML, sequences diagrams, etc.).
  • Experience applying object-oriented design patterns.
  • Proficiency with the Android Studio development environment essential.
  • Knowledge of ExoPlayer.
  • Knowledge of the Dagger, Hilt and Koin libraries an asset.
  • Knowledge of Google architecture components an asset.
  • Knowledge of MVC, MVP or MVVM programming patterns an asset.
  • Knowledge of audio and video streaming an asset.
  • Knowledge of other programming languages an asset.
  • Knowledge of design patterns an asset.
  • Interest in the Agile methodology (Scrum) an asset.
  • Knowledge of Git or another source control system an asset.
  • Good general knowledge and intellectual curiosity (acquire and develop new knowledge and skills);
  • Critical thinking (question and propose new ideas);
  • Strong interest in major web trends and issues;
  • Rigor, autonomy and resourcefulness;
  • Excellent stress and priority management;
  • Analytical and conceptual skills;
  • Flexibility, initiative and dynamism;
  • Ability to work in a team, excellent communicator;
  • Fluency in French
  • Functional knowledge of written and spoken English, an asset.
Please note that this is a 12-month contract position, renewable annually.
