Position Overview





Our Enterprise Group (client services) is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the team to augment a growing segment of our practice! We work side-by-side with our clients, in step with their business needs and proudly stand by our reputation as leaders and innovators in our field. In this role, as a member of the Richter team, you will work directly with Partners and Managers to plan, perform and complete mainly Compilation engagements with an emphasis on complex non-assurance client groups. You will have the opportunity to resolve business and tax issues directly with the client, the CRA and other government or regulatory agencies.


Your challenges




In concert with the Manager and Partner completes mainly Compilation and some small Reviews engagements within an expanded group structure. Ensures that all procedures are completed in accordance with the Firm's policies and procedures and that all queries and issues are satisfactorily resolved. Knowledgeable of accounting and assurance standards applicable to private enterprises, and the professional code of conduct applicable to CPA's in Ontario. Specific file responsibilities include: Prepare complete working paper files for corporations, partnerships, joint ventures and trusts Investment write-up and T-slip reconciliation Prepare financial statements and related notes Prepare corporate, trust, partnership and personal tax returns using Taxprep software Uses knowledge to identify issues and opportunities; suggests alternatives and implements plans; prepares recommendations to management where appropriate + HST/GST/QST: calculations, reporting and filing; + Payroll deductions at Source: calculations and reporting;
Other Government reporting and filing; Communicates with Managers, Partners and clients on progress and delivery timelines; prepares engagement budgets and monitors efficiencies.

Your qualifications




Preferably possess (or pursuing) a CPA designation Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in an accounting firm Ability to deal effectively with Partners, Clients, Team and the firms' spheres of influence Analyze complex accounting and technical information Prepare clear and comprehensive analyses and reports Develop and document detailed technical procedures Experience with Review and Compilation engagements in a variety of Industries. Possess exceptional technical skills and a fine attention to detail Have proven problem solving capabilities including ingenuity, analytical skills and creativity Computer proficient; knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel and a working knowledge and experience in a variety of software applications including Quickbooks, Caseware, Caseview, and Taxprep Have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and the ability to organize, prepare and clearly present information to our clients and team A self-starter attitude with well-developed time management skills and the commitment to meeting deadlines The ability to have fun and a commitment to providing exceptional client service Bilingualism is an asset.
