Our Team:

Our Sudbury Operations have been in existence for more than 100 years. With five mines, a mill, a smelter, a refinery and nearly 4,000 employees it is also one of the largest integrated mining complexes in the world.

The Port Colborne Refinery was also commissioned 100 years ago on the shore of Lake Erie. Raw materials and finished products from Vale\xe2\x80\x99s Sudbury and Newfoundland and Labrador operations are transported to Port Colborne for processing.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst Project Control North Atlantic Exploration to join our Project team in Sudbury. This is a permanent position.

The incumbent will have the responsibility to ensure project controls systems are in place with respect to controlling and reporting the status of the NA Exploration projects. The incumbent will be responsible for analyzing, forecasting project costs (by discipline, WBS and contractual packages), and for leading the cost control and financial control (SAP data) support of NA Exploration Project Development group as well as developing, preparing and collecting deliverable data for studies, assets and status reports, ensuring accurate and on-time reporting of data. Additionally, in this position you will:

• Responsible for leading the overall cost and cash control support for the NA Exploration FEL1 Studies.
• Responsible for maintaining the cost management databases on Projects (SAP ERP and PRISM database)
• Creating and managing detailed project information.
• Reporting project deliverables to management team for internal reviews, as well as analyzing variances and recommending corrective actions to the Exploration projects team.
• Responsible for reviewing the budget development and project cash flow and cost control from the projects during the development to ensure the project objectives are delivered.
• Coordinating with the Project team to ensure all deliverables related to the contract were received before proceeding with invoice payments.
• Ensure Vale\xe2\x80\x99s standards, policies and guidelines (SPE, Finance or any other applicable) are followed and implemented in cost/cash management.
• Perform ongoing review of the Project\xe2\x80\x99s reports and supporting information in the project\xe2\x80\x99s SAP. PTS, Power BI, MS Project, etc.

About You

Education:

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Finance or Project Management or related discipline

Preferred Certification:

• CAPM, PMP are preferred certifications.

Experience:

• Minimum of 6-8years relevant experience in similar subject area.

Skills:

• Experience working on major Capital Projects
• Experience and in-depth knowledge and understanding of Project Management and Project Controls concepts including estimating, cost/cash, scheduling and earned value management.
• Experience and knowledge of mining & construction processes and procedures.
• Proficient use of Primavera P6, PRISM Project Manager, SAP, MS PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI
• Ability to develop and manage relationships with a diverse range of professionals in a mining & construction atmosphere.
