They will act as a replacement and back-up of colleagues in the team. They are responsible to produce various accounting entries in accordance with BDC policy and IFRS and will prepare monthly analysis to ensure accuracy and integrity of the transactions and resolve discrepancies and produce the financial statements notes & MDA. The incumbent should be strong in analysis and very comfortable handling large data. The ideal candidate will demonstrate good interpersonal skills, teamwork, and the ability to build relationships with partners.CHALLENGES TO BE METDetermine journal entry amounts by understanding complex accounting issues, prepare the monthly entries relating to various loan programs and transactions in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) while meeting tight deadlines.Develop and perform Month-End reconciliations, including investigating and resolving discrepancies, requiring communication with external parties for government programs and other BDC departmentsPrepare quarterly and annual financial statement notes and key highlights for the MD&A for the Core and CAP segment under tight deadlines. Ensure that the financial information complies with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).Take part and collaborate actively in the implementation of new initiatives, ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting and prepare reporting for internal and external partners.Prepare monthly reporting for external partnerships (CoLending, HASCAP, Futurpreneur, EDC, etc) that require attention to detail and high level of accuracy.Produce monthly key highlights for the executive dashboard and the reporting package monthly including analyses on the net interest income margin and provision for expected credit losses.Support in producing quarterly analytical review for Financing and CAP segments.Comply with ICC by ensuring that internal controls are aligned with BDC policy, ensure the impact of the provision for impaired loan calculation is adequate in the general ledger, and provide guidance on how to correctly use the CLICS impairment value table to special accountWork closely with the Financial application team, play a key role in enhancement of work methods.
