Position Summary:

The Analyst, Data Science & Marketing Analytics is responsible for delivering practical business insights through data storytelling and the thoughtful application of marketing analytics, data science, machine learning, statistics, and other advanced analytics approaches. They will collaborate with marketing and other business domain experts, data, and analytics teams on various research, reporting and analytics projects that support operational and critical initiatives.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design and develop accurate and relevant datasets, automated key performance metrics reporting and business intelligence visualisations that enable timely decision making
  • Create value and business impact through better data availability and quality
  • Manipulate and prepare data from multiple sources, including (structured and unstructured data) for machine learning
  • Discover, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex datasets
  • Organize and communicate findings by translating into useful insights
  • Leverage knowledge of Data Science, Statistics, Causal AI, Program Evaluation and Performance Measurement to make thoughtful modelling decisions, that employ the required combination of statistical analysis, causal inference, attribution modelling, structural modelling and optimization to solve core business problems
  • Measure the causal impact of treatments and interventions by implementing statistically-sound experiments to evaluate performance and return on investment across a variety of initiatives
  • Measure the impact of marketing and advertising campaigns to optimize investments across a wide range of media channels
  • Expertise includes both supervised and unsupervised approaches and leveraging cloud infrastructure.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of models and propose recommendations for improvements where applicable and implement best-in-class analytical practices in ways of working
  • Work closely with relevant teams to make sure models/solutions can be deployed
  • Develop, test, implement, document, and continuously improve data sets and models
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or other relevant STEM field with minimum 6 months in a Data Science, Advanced Analytics/Predictive Analytics or Data Engineering co-op or permanent job working within a business function; or Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree/Post Graduate studies in a quantitative field such as Analytics, Math, Statistics, Economics, Evaluation, Causal AI, Computer Science, Machine Learning, etc.
  • Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to frame and communicate analytical results to partners at various levels
  • Strong programming skills with experience using Python for Machine Learning and SQL
  • Experience with Tableau, and/or other BI and reporting tools
  • Proficient with Big Data, working with relational databases (e.g. SAP Hana, Netezza, ORACLE, SQL Server), and distributed file systems (e.g. Hadoop)
  • Ability to synthesize data into concise and logical summaries, reports, presentations, dashboards
  • Excellent teamwork and relationship building skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Excel at critical thinking \xe2\x80\x93 conceptualizing, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating
Nice to haves:
  • Experience with Spark, HQL, MapReduce, Hive, Hbase, noSQL related Big Data technologies
  • Familiarity with software development tools and practices (Git, code review, etc.)
  • Exposure to cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Experience working in an Agile project management framework
  • Experience doing marketing analytics including commercial analytics and marketing mix modelling,
