Rockpoint Gas Storage Inc. (RGSI.TO) is the largest independent pure play operator of natural gas storage facilities in North America. Rockpoint is currently searching for an experienced Senior Analyst, Corporate Development to join the team.

Overview



The Senior Analyst, Corporate Development will be located, in person, in our Calgary office and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The position will focus on driving internal corporate planning initiatives and supporting the financial analysis and strategic decision-making process as it relates to organic growth projects, financing strategy, mergers and acquisitions and other.

The Senior Analyst will participate in a very dynamic, collaborative cross-functional role within the business with direct exposure to senior management and involvement in initiatives that create value across the organization. The successful candidate for this role will be a highly motivated and naturally curious professional with strong analytical skills, excellent written and verbal communication and aspirations to grow and develop their career with Rockpoint.

Key Responsibilities



Develop, maintain and review detailed financial models and valuation analysis while incorporating best practices as it relates to corporate finance frameworks, valuation principles, financing structures, accounting and tax considerations Support senior management in the development of the annual long-term Strategic Plan Assist the Finance team with capital market initiatives, rating agency updates and other Conduct market research, analyze industry trends, and assess the competitive landscape to support the identification of growth and acquisition opportunities Assist in transaction due diligence by managing and analyzing large volumes of data, preparing and reviewing marketing documents and coordinating efforts with internal and external teams Prepare ad-hoc analysis as it relates to contracting activity and various financial and operational KPI's Support Business Development projects, from initial evaluation to execution and integration Produce clear and concise presentations, reports, and model outputs for senior management review

Skills and Qualifications



3 to 6 years of experience, preferably in a quantitative focused role (Investment Banking, Private Equity, Equity Research, Corporate Finance, or Transaction Advisory) Bachelor's Degree in Economics or Business Administration with a Finance or Accounting focus Currently holds or is pursuing a CFA, CPA, or CBV designation Possesses working knowledge related to the midstream oil and gas industry Adept in well-established finance and valuation concepts and theories A high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial modeling software is essential (CapIQ, FactSet, Bloomberg, other) Ability to effectively communicate complex information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing to a variety of different audiences
