Department Overview

Reporting to the Senior Manager CTS Specialty Services, this role is accountable for operational support and dedicated subject matter expertise as it related to Complex Account Transfers. This role will require the successful candidate to act as a single-point of contact between our front-office business partners and lateral Wealth teams to provide an assessment and recommendations to ensure the swift resolution and ownership of complex account transfers.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using EUCs and processing macros
  • Advanced reconciliation and investigative skills: Strong working knowledge of ledger balancing and clearing entries
  • Advanced command of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Advanced computer and typing/data entry skills
  • Detail-oriented and ability to work within deadlines
  • Organized with the ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Team-oriented and able to develop excellent working relations with other TDBFG departments
  • Comprehensive and evident understanding of Microsoft Technology (VB .NET, Windows, Internet Explorer, SQL Server, Web Services)
  • Strong critical thinking and ability to decompose complex concepts into simple and compelling messages
  • Strong sense of urgency, ownership and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities
  • Evidence of strong leadership and building/maintaining productive working relationships with peers across the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to present technical details to a non-technical audience, and articulate solutions to business teams
  • Organizational awareness & the ability to balance the viewpoints of various business and technology teams
  • Ability to conceptualize automated solutions and understand the prescribed design architecture

Job Details
  • Perform assessment and monitoring of Complex Transfers, and proactively identify transfers which would require intervention to complete
  • Highlight key risks in specific business lines and in the firm as a whole and provide ongoing recommendations on to mitigate these going forward
  • Work closely with Legal, Tax, New Accounts, Estates partners, Operations teams, and Credit to provide expert knowledge and swiftly resolve barriers to completion
  • Maintain an understanding of regulatory landscape, Estates and Tax strategies to efficiently route and facilitate account transfers
  • Requires expanded knowledge of Wealth and Transfers products/services/processes in addition to organizational awareness
  • Ability to conduct reviews of customers\' account activity; conduct reviews of sales activity, and generally resolve exceptions; and promptly escalate instances where further clarity or interpretation is required of TD policies and procedures related to providing financial services, and relevant federal and provincial laws
  • Assess information, potential gaps in documentation, and holistically evaluate situation to determine immediate risk factors/additional supporting documentation up front
  • Liaise with Legal counsel on high complex cases as needed
  • Exceptional ability to coordinate activities and timelines across multiple teams to ensure customer expectations are met
  • Interact with business partners across the organization to resolve issues quickly and highlight process gaps and opportunities for improvement to enhance the customer/colleague experience
  • General knowledge of regulatory disclosures; knowledge of (or willingness to learn) relevant federal and provincial rules and requirements
  • Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality; escalate issues where appropriate
  • Contribute to improved customer experience by providing support, guidance and coaching to colleagues to better enable them to take ownership and solve problems at first point of contact
  • Keep current on emerging trends and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques
  • Actively participate in personal performance management and development, including coaching, training, campaigns, huddles and business initiatives
  • Bilingual in both official languages (English and French) an asset
  • Interprets documents, guidelines, standards, policies and results of analysis to inform decision making
  • Ability to remain resilient and positive in difficult and sensitive situations
  • Quickly assess, prioritize, and process cases when received
