The Opportunity
The Senior Renewals & Assumption Analyst is responsible for overseeing the processing of Commercial Mortgage Renewals, Assumptions & Investor Sales, in accordance with company policies and procedures. The Senior Renewals Analyst will be responsible to review and approve transactions processed by Renewals Analyst for completeness and assist with the renewals team general reporting requirements to all parties.
How you will contribute:

  • Ensure maturing loans up for renewals, assumptions and investor sales are processed in a timely manner in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform a complete review of renewal and assumption underwriting binder and commitment letter.
  • Liaise with solicitors, insurance consultants, investors, originators and all parties associated with each transaction to ensure all First National requirements are satisfied and our files (paper & paperless) are updated accordingly.
  • Responsible for accurately processing all loan details onto mortgage system (including clear meaningful notes) as needed, from various source documents, including e-mails, commitment letter, CMHC special conditions, underwriting binder, legal documents etc. in compliance with policies & procedures.
  • Maintain details on several reports that are being used on a daily
  • Responsible for assisting with training of new staff within the renewals team
  • Responsible for the daily review and approval of Renewal, Assumption and Investor sales transactions processed by other members within the team.
  • Performed a complete check on specific CMHC files for accuracy prior to MBS Securitization and communicate directly with Securitization Department to ensure commercial files meet pooling requirements
  • Assist with Anti-Money Laundering Legislation/Anti-Terrorist Legislation including Down Payment Verification review, as required
  • Review cheque requisitions, adjustment, deposits, globals, investors capital call etc. and recommend requests to Management for approval
  • Provide back up in the absence of other analysts within the team
  • Complete special projects as assigned by Management
The experience you need:
  • Post secondary education
  • 4 or more years' experience in the mortgage/financial industry
  • Experience working with the Optimus system a definite asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel
  • Good understanding of mortgage security documentation
  • Prior experience processing mortgage assumptions, renewals and/or new loan transactions an asset
  • Good Understanding of the AML and Down Payment Verification requirements an asset
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented

  • Prolonged periods of repetitive movement (i.e. using a keyboard and mouse)
  • Long periods of time in viewing a computer screen
  • Multi-tasking may include speaking to customers on a telephone call while looking up information on a computer program.
