Here is what you will be doing:
Reporting to the Manager of Central Waitlist Management, the Senior Business Analyst (SBA) is responsible for supporting the strategy development and execution associated with the Central Waitlist Management program. The SBA will work closely with a project team that consists of a cross representation of business, clinical and technical partners and other key stakeholders to support the management of this high-profile program. The SBA will lead and support the execution of key program goals which include;Comprehensive engagement to establish multi-year transformational strategy with immediate focus on surgical patient access and flow.
Define and deliver a single provincial system to track patient flow from initial referral to patient recovery leveraging existing provincial assets and systems
Support surgical access improvement through enhanced performance information and reporting at the Region, Ontario Health Team, hospital, and provider levels.
Here is what you will need to be successful:
The successful candidate will foster a high degree of partner engagement as they support change management efforts identified as part of a complex multi-year plan. This work will be performed in a fast-paced environment with a highly skilled and dedicated project team. They will work and engage with Senior members of the Ontario Health and external partners while exercising sound professional judgment and using best practice guidelines.Ability to support on complex projects with key partners and stakeholders; identify their business needs, challenges, project goals, and liaise between business users and technical teams
Providing business analysis on key issues and related processes using both quantitative and qualitative data;
Create business documents such as: business requirements, process flows, user stories, data dictionaries and data mapping documentation
Developing and enhancing business process maps and related methodologies; Help design workflows, dashboard mock ups, or enhancements
Demonstrated ability to provide quality assurance review on team work and attention to detail when reviewing materials;
Performing assignments and special projects in support of departmental objectives, often developing and assisting in implementation of solutions to unique or highly complex business problems;
Responding to business inquiries, creating reusable inquiry documentation, and keeping documentation updated related assigned projects or initiatives.
Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Business, Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience is required;
Minimum five years of business experience required (e.g. a role on an information technology project, collaborating with stakeholders, or experience working in a hospital setting with clinicians);
Demonstrates strong knowledge of advanced analytics techniques including statistical analytics;
Subject matter knowledge within surgical wait times and efficiencies in Ontario, and national/international trends and best practices is an asset;
A Masters level degree in one of the above disciplines is an asset.
Knowledge and SkillsAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks and deadlines required;
Experience in collecting/documenting information related to operational and performance reporting;
Experience collecting and documenting business processes and information flows;
Strong communication, both written and verbal, comprehension and listening skills;
Demonstrated knowledge and use of business analysis methodologies and tools;
Highly organized with the capacity to prioritize and complete multiple tasks effectively;
Ability to work with minimal supervision and is an effective team member and contributor;
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others;
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, MS Teams and Excel required.
Experience with FHIR, and Microsoft Power BI would be an asset
