Purpose of Job:

The candidate is a key player within the Risk Report Reporting & Analytics team, supporting strategic enhancements to the Risk & Regulatory reporting solutions.

The candidate is a part of a team of risk reporting specialists that produce daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual risk reports for senior management. The candidate will focus on designing, developing, and implementing solutions for GRM in areas of management reporting, and other risk initiatives.

The candidate will work closely with the Senior Manager to collaborate with business stakeholders to review and assess business needs for improved risk information and to help define system enhancements to respond to business, operational and management requirements. The candidate activities include data analysis, business requirement solution determination and documentation, and supporting system enhancement development and implementation. Major Accountabilities:

  • Work with the Senior Manager and the leadership team to develop strategic opportunities for the design, development and implementation of new solutions or enhancements to existing applications by:
\xe2\xa6\x81 Developing and implementing strategies for increasing the effectiveness and quality of non-retail risk reporting to senior management, executive and board reporting including developing standardized metrics and templates
\xe2\xa6\x81 Receiving business requirements, and assess against data availability and risk management to determine the right delivery approach for new reports
\xe2\xa6\x81 Ensure timeline and delivery commitments are tightly managed and aligned with reporting or project deliverables
\xe2\xa6\x81 Effectively manage operational risk and change with a continuous focus on process optimization and improvement.
  • Responsible for the development and production of monthly and quarterly senior management risk reports/regulatory reports.
  • Be able to explain variances to management and regulators.
  • Enhance reporting capabilities by improving analytical programs. The incumbent is responsible for developing new augmented analytics required to support non-retail credit risk lending, including the development of enhanced industry and risk reporting, and collaborating with credit officers to develop new reporting.
  • Assist in the redesign of the Risk Reporting & Analytics processes to improve efficiencies, facilitate analysis, shorten report generation times, and migrate reports to common platforms
  • Test enhancements / changes to existing data sources and identifying, monitoring and communicating data quality issues.
  • Automate and test new reports, revising reporting as necessary.
  • Develop and write queries (that are suitable and scalable) for \'big data\', build models, and ensure data is accessible to team members, and the data sets are working smoothly.
  • Expected to distill technical details into business terms (e.g., connects the dots) enabling fact-based decisions (based on analysis of past data) for business stakeholders. Adheres to Business Intelligence framework and methodology.
  • Able to analyze complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. Identifies and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate root causes/drivers.
  • Running ad-hoc queries for internal stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicating with GRM, IT&S, Finance, Retail, and Credit groups.
Education/Work Experience/Designations:

A minimum of two or more years of progressive, relevant and practical experience with world class organizations, preferably with financial institutions, in information management fields, and a proven track record of success in implementing effective information systems that support and generate profitable and informed decision-making in the financial services sector.

The incumbent must have experience and knowledge of big data, complex data models, testing, problem solving and data analysis experience in order to work cross functionally within an environment of multiple data repositories, multi-systems, multi-architectures, and multi-business lines. Particularly, excellent knowledge and experience in the following areas are essential:

\xe2\xa6\x81 Independently resolve and document complex problems to meet business needs.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Create, document and execute complex test cases.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of risk management applications and Bank\'s risk management areas.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Provide on-going support to our partners and business stakeholders.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Assist with managing projects and coordinate work with Project Teams and provide post rollout support for system enhancements.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Ability to handle multiple projects and activities in a timely, organized manner.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Ability to facilitate meetings and action plans.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Working with large amounts of data from a variety of different sources
\xe2\xa6\x81 Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills - to present findings / results to business leaders.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Knowledge of project and process management disciplines.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task, while being results oriented and team focused.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Experience effectively working in a global matrix team, across a range of functions, seniority and geography.
\xe2\xa6\x81 A broad range of cross-functional business, industry and functional knowledge is required to integrate technical solutions with business requirements.
\xe2\xa6\x81 A strong knowledge of the Bank\'s policies & processes, technical platform applications and financial information systems would be an asset.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Effective research and analysis of business requirements and functional specifications leading to the completion of complex functional specifications or External Design Documents.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Experience in data analysis and data modeling and the ability to grasp a customized repository (as defined by a relational or dimensional database) approach.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Experience with SQL, Power BI is preferred.
\xe2\xa6\x81 Experience of data analysis, BI Tools and Cloud platforms is a definite asset.

Advanced graduate university degree (typically in mathematics, business administration, technology, statistics or equivalent). CFA or FRM designation an asset. Previous Banking and/or Credit experience is desirable.
