Our Sudbury Operations have been in existence for more than 100 years. With five mines, a mill, a smelter, a refinery and nearly 4,000 employees it is also one of the largest integrated mining complexes in the world. Sudbury is also home to several administrative sites serving both the Ontario Operations as well as all our North Atlantic Operations.

Port Colborne is home to our Nickel Refinery where raw materials from our Sudbury operations are processed into electrocobalt and precious metals and serves as a distribution centre for finished nickel products.

The Senior Asset Management Analyst will provide guidance and support to a defined North Atlantic area in the implementation and improvement of Asset Management business processes, data, and systems related to integrated planning, scheduling, and routine work management activities.

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Asset Management Analyst to join our Asset Management team in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a permanent position.

The role will ensure site(s) are adhering to Vale\xe2\x80\x99s VPS business process standards, procedures and using system applications and tools in an effective and efficient manner. The incumbent will provide training, coaching and issue resolution support as required. Leading the implementation and improvement of the asset management business processes, including the deployment of technology solutions supporting the processes is central to the role.

The successful candidate may be required to support multiple plants, and travel to sites will be required.

In addition, you will:

  • Ensure planning and scheduling processes are integrated such that all needed information for operational work routines is available and executed to achieve specified asset performance goals.
  • Provide guidance and support in the development and implementation of the area\xe2\x80\x99s Main Events Schedule.
  • Provide guidance and assist area management in the development, implementation, and optimization of integrated planning and routine management business processes, tools, and systems.
  • Provide data for decision making and improvement activities such as Work Management Metrics and Reliability KPI\xe2\x80\x99s.
  • Ensure data tracking mechanisms are being populated properly.
  • Audit adherence to business process standards and provide coaching, training & escalation where applicable.
  • Provide training and coaching to enhance end-user skills in business processes, ERP and tools.
  • Coordinate meetings with plant management on business systems issues, audit results, recommendations etc.
About You

Education:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Engineering or Computer Science; or a Diploma in Electrical, Mining, or Maintenance Technology.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 4 years of related experience
Skills:
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Knowledge of basic report creation and use of reporting tools.
  • Strong knowledge in the use of ERP integrated planning and routine management modules, business reporting systems tools such SAP, Prometheus, Sigga Brizzo.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced changing environment.
  • Strong Interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Must be skilled in data analysis and problem solving.
  • Must have strong organization and time management skills.
  • Ability influence without authority.
  • Takes initiative and is able to self-direct to accomplish goals with minimum supervision.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
