We are currently looking for a Senior Analyst, Accounting Financial Systems to join our team in Mississauga, NCI HQ.

This role will be responsible for all the Contract Management System (CMS) Accounting & Balance and control functions, System development and any matters related to system change. Responsibilities including month-end close, audit requirements, J-Sox control, account reconciliations and balancing sub-ledger to financials systems. Initially this role will assist with the implementation of new system and once implemented, run the business and manage a team for this function. Incumbent will ensure that business requirements are passed to Information Systems (IS) team. in liaison with Business Process Innovation Team to support completion of the projects in line with quality, timing and cost planning expectations.

Job functions Include but are not limited to:

  • Under the leadership of the Manager, Financial Planning, incumbent will be responsible for financial system\xe2\x80\x99s accounting requirement, to liaison with consultant for implementation of new contract management system, work with the team on requirements gathering and scoping. Responsible to liaison with all accounting related testing for implementation and migration. Create and implement accounting process for new system implementation and support on going changes.
  • To support the Manager in day to day FP&A activities for the captive finance function, if required.
  • Participate in PM meetings ensuring permanent representation of system accounting. Build communication flow and control quality of reporting and information sharing between accounting, Financial planning and business operations team and other stakeholders involved in project management (Business Processes and Innovation, Accounting and IS).
  • After new system implementation, manage team for day-to-day functions of financial accounting of the contract management systems. Responsible to transition existing process from US accounting team and create in house team. Responsible for financial close functions, Audit requirements and internal controls related to financials systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • University degree in Accounting & Finance discipline with minimum 5-7 years of financial accounting related experience. Experience in captive finance accounting (loans and leases) and actively pursuing professional accounting designation (CPA) is an asset. Must have strong technical skills- Advance excel skills, excel modelling, SAP, Blackline & Financial product system and possess communication and presentation skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams. Proficient in Accounting Principles IFRS (GAAP), Financials Statements, process mapping / implementations, account reconciliations and system balance & Control functions.
  • The incumbent in this position requires a broad range of interpersonal skills to carry out the responsibilities of this position. These include active listening, the ability to communicate both complex and simple information clearly and with diplomacy, conflict resolution, coaching, counseling and negotiation skills. Communicating with internal/external stakeholders on a daily basis to collaborate and improve processes to increase efficiency.
  • Job-related problems are most often non-routine and diverse, requiring considerable analysis and creativity to identify potential solutions. Business requirement development, testing strategy and execution as well as building presentations and reporting to present to management and team projects status and progress.
  • The incumbent is expected to act intensively in a cross-functional way supporting the liaison between senior accounting team, business operations and other project stakeholders. The incumbent is expected to identify risks on project delivery in terms of time, quality and cost and provide recommendations and mitigation plan.
  • No direct staff management in the beginning, to manage a team post system implementation. Leadership skills working with cross-functional stakeholders.
