Responsible for performing skilled security technician work in the service/repair, alteration, installation and maintenance of security, CCTV, access and related systems.

Able to wear protective equipment such as, safety boots and eye protection.

Must be available to work off normal hours to meet customer needs
Must be able to perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting/carrying tools and equipment (up to 30Kg unassisted) bending, standing, climbing or walking
Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades.
Familiarity with local codes as they apply to security, ingress and egress
Understanding of computer, networks, routing and IT related systems
Work from ladders and scaffolds or at heights above 30 feet
Other Skills
Strong troubleshooting capabilities and techniques
Computer skills such as networking, software installation and troubleshooting
Ability to read and work from plans, drawings, and blueprints as appropriate to trade

Education and Experience
Education: OSSD
5+ years experience in the security industry
License or Certificate:
Must possess a valid Ontario driver's license and be insurable
Ability to complete the following training as required: Lock out tag out, fall arrest, confined space, WHMIS, ladder safety, Alarm.com certified technician, Kantech Corporate, CFAA.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. The following duties are listed both as specific and shared responsibilities, other duties may be assigned as required to meet demands of the business.

Performs service/installation of security, CCTV and access control systems
Evaluate, diagnose, troubleshoot systems and perform repairs as necessary
Perform upgrades and additions to systems in order to increase functionality and usability
Perform configuration of computer and network related equipment in order to commission or repair systems
Coordinate with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently
Inform personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing necessary information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with health and safety regulations
Prepares documentation in a variety of written and electronic formats (e.g. daily paperwork, time and materials, etc.)
Request equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items
Assist other trades personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities (i.e. coordination with electricians, locksmith, carpenters)
