The Office of the Faculty Registrar works closely with departments and colleges at the University of Toronto, concerning virtually all matters relating to Arts and Science students. Our department members are dedicated to aid all students to the greatest extent, to make their university experience as smooth and seamless as possible. We coordinate recruitment, admission, financial counselling, academic counselling, registration and enrolment, student records, transfer credit, petitions and appeals, final examinations, and graduation.



Reporting to Associate Faculty Registrar and Director, Registrar Services, the incumbent will collaborate with various stakeholders across the faculty, contributing to a comprehensive policy framework that reflects the values and goals of the Faculty of Arts and Science. The incumbent will lead the development of new policies, conduct periodic reviews of existing policies to assess relevance and effectiveness, analyze policy implications and provide recommendations for modification or updates to address emerging issues.



The Senior Policy Advisor will play a pivotal role in the development, review, and implementation of the faculty policies to ensure compliance, alignment with best practices, and support the achievement of the Faculty's strategic objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:



Leading the development, consultation, and making recommendations for policy, procedures and best practices for the unit Providing consultation and advice on the application of University policies and Procedures Conducting comprehensive reviews of existing policies, regulations, and procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of current policies and identify areas for improvement. Drafting policy documents and engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback on proposed policies. Monitoring the implementation of policies to ensure alignment and work with operational teams to facilitate the integration of new policies. Assessing potential risks associated with policy changes and develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans. Staying informed of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes. Preparing reports on policy reviews, recommendations, and implementation progress to share with the Office of the Faculty Registrar management team and relevant stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications:



Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience. Six to seven years recent and related experience in developing, reviewing and implementing policies in higher education. Experience in conducting detailed data analysis, researching and documenting business requirements. Experience in developing and making recommendations for policy, procedures and best practices for the unit. Experience advising senior leadership and driving change. Strong understanding of institutional governance, administrative operations, and policy frameworks. Experience in interpreting and applying institutional policies to support operational and strategic goals. Experience leading policy reviews and drafting procedures. Experience in evaluating policy effectiveness and identifying opportunities forimprovement. Must have strong project management skills. Strong quantitative research skills. Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess risks and develop strategies. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience delivering presentations and facilitating workshops; collaboration skills and client management skills. Strong problem solving, research, and analytical skills. Excellent communications skills and high level of discretion when handling sensitive or confidential information. Strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple project components and priorities while meeting tight deadlines.

USW Pay Band 15 - $97,348. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $124,491. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
