Position Summary
The Senior Advisor, People and Culture will play a critical role in enhancing the culture and inclusion at Chrysalis. Reporting to the Executive Director this position involves strategic leadership aimed at shaping Chrysalis' people-related strategies and initiatives. The ideal candidate will be passionate about people, detail-oriented, and proactive in fostering a positive workplace culture.
What You'll Do!
Employee Relations:
Ability to provide strategic guidance in employee relations, fostering a positive work environment through conflict resolution, performance management, compliance, employee engagement, and cultural development
Planning and Reporting:
Lead planning and reporting efforts by developing and implementing HR strategies, tracking key performance metrics, and providing data-driven insights to support organizational goals
Job Evaluation and Compensation:
Oversee job evaluation and compensation processes, ensuring competitive and equitable salary structures, alignment with industry standards, and adherence to organizational budget and policies
Employment Legislation:
Ensure compliance with employment legislation by staying current with labor laws, advising on legal matters, and implementing policies that safeguard the organization and its employees
Benefits Administration:
Manage benefits administration, ensuring effective delivery of employee benefits programs, compliance with regulations, and clear communication of offerings to staff
Orientation, Training and Retention:
Lead retention initiatives, ensuring smooth onboarding, ongoing professional development, and strategies to enhance employee satisfaction and retention
Health and Safety Board:
Collaborate with the Health and Safety Board to develop, implement, and monitor workplace safety policies, ensuring a proactive approach to risk management and employee health
Payroll:
Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely compensation, compliance with tax regulations, and proper documentation for all employees
Mentorship:
Mentor the People and Culture Coordinator, providing guidance on HR best practices, employee relations, and program implementation to support the overall goals of the organization
What We Need From You!
Employee Engagement:
Ability to engage with all employees in a professional manner
Communication and Influence:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all organizational levels
Knowledge of the Human Resources Sector:
In depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risk
Organizational Skills
: Strong organizational abilities
Conflict Management and Investigating
: Proficient in resolving conflicts, addressing employee relations issues, and maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment
Strategic Leadership:
Ability to develop and execute people strategies that align with organizational goals and drive business results
Skills and Qualifications
Education:
Degree in Human Resources with CPHR designation (or in progress), with several years of senior HR experience required. Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is a valued asset.
Experience:
5 years of senior Human Resources experience required, 3 years Payroll Administration experience
Technical skills:
Proficiency with Google Suite, HR software and payroll systems (e.g., Payworks, Citation Canada)
Knowledge:
Advanced and expert knowledge of full scope Human Resource Practices, Workers Compensation Board, Health and Safety and benefit administration.
