SCOPE



Reporting to the Manager, Organizational Development (OD), The incumbent is a resource person responsible for developing key relationships with a very wide variety of internal and external clients, providers, and committees. They also assist internal clients in achieving organizational results associated with each project implementation. The incumbent recommends a course of action to management at all levels of the organization.



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES



The world of higher education is in a state of significant transformation. The Organizational Development team engages with managers and senior leadership to support them through these rapidly shifting realities by offering a variety of services.


Here are a few ways you will make a difference:


o Develop relationships with key members of the Concordia community to provide effective interventions, such as organizational and process reviews, visioning and strategic planning and performance strategies.


o Conduct needs assessment, diagnose, provide feedback to clients; plans action or interventions that connect employees and managers with sectorial and organization goals.


o Identify best practices, data collection tools, data sources, benchmarks, and performance targets.


o Design and implement organizational effectiveness interventions, including working on reorganizations.


o Design and facilitate professional development and leadership programs that offer employees and managers opportunities for growth and advancement.


o Maintain records and write reports to monitor and evaluate activities and program effectiveness.


o Contribute to change management strategies based on situational awareness of groups impacted by the changes and work with Project Managers and project teams to integrate change-management activities into overall project plans.


o Provide support and coaching to all levels of management in their organizational development initiatives, including leadership and change management; work in collaboration with training to elaborate connected strategies.


o Assess team dynamics, develop team-building interventions, workshops, coach, and support the leadership team in addressing these issues.


o Develop content for soft skills training. Use a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as in class training, e-learning, role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, lectures, etc.


o Perform other duties in support of the unit.



QUALIFICATIONS



o Bachelor's Degree with a Specialization in Organizational Development (OD), Human Relations, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Human Systems Intervention, Psychology or another field relevant to the work and four to seven years of experience in the conduct of a wide variety of OD and change interventions in a variety of organizational settings.


o Master's Degree in OD, change management or any other related field an asset.


o CHRP designation, Change Management Professional designation an asset.


o Experience in the development and implementation of complex OD strategies, organizational needs analysis, design and delivery of OD solutions, use of variety of tools, group facilitation and individual coaching.


o Experience in developing and diffusion of trainings.


o Proven capabilities in report writing and presentation skills - essential.


o Very good spoken and written French and English (level 5).


o Excellent communication and analytical skills.


o Strong strategic, problem solving and creative system thinking, personal commitment and drive for results, flexibility and leadership.


o Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and to interact with staff at all levels within the organization. Candidates must be self-knowing and have a proven ability to work effectively in teams.


o Knowledge of principles of emotional intelligence, change management, organizational development, adult learning, training and development.


Knowledge of research methods, conflict resolution/mediation and intercultural issues.
