Job Description

The Office of the Vice President Academic and Research invites internal applications for the position of Senior Advisor on Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM). This position will lead the coordination and implementation of the forthcoming Strategic Enrolment Management (SEM) plan covering recruitment, retention, student experience and revenue sustainability. It will provide high-level advice to the Vice President Academic and Research and Senior Executive Team on enrolment management, targets, policy development, and resource implications. This position is subject to budgetary approval.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Coordinate the various stakeholder groups across campus for implementation of SEM initiatives, including the Registrar's Office, Faculties (including special attention to new Faculties), Recruitment, Academic Support Services, International Relations, ITSS, and Institutional Research. Facilitate consultation and stakeholder engagement, including consultations with faculty, staff, students and governance bodies. Regular communication by reporting on progress updates; decision briefing notes to governance bodies; reports on enrolment, retention, melt and graduation data; and other knowledge transfer to academic units. Together with the Office of Institutional Research, conduct modeling on scenarios in response to provincial funding, IRCC study-permit caps and enrolment changes. Chair the SEM Steering Committee and manage the SEM timelines. Combination and quantity of above responsibilities as appropriate to the successful candidate and their availability of working hours through a part-time position.

QUALIFICATIONS:



A current faculty or staff member of the University with demonstrated leadership experience in strategic enrolment management, including recruitment, retention, and alignment of enrolment goals with institutional priorities Experience with curricular and/or teaching issues that impact the academic journey of students. Excellent communication skills with an open, transparent, collaborative leadership style. Ability to advance a vision of strategic enrolment management that embraces a diversity of programming, stakeholders, and development opportunities across the University. * Committed to promoting equity, diversity, inclusion and Indigenous reconciliation on campus and experience working with a diverse student body.
