Lead OPEX and CAPEX strategies to drive financial and operational efficiency. Partner with Asset Management, Engineering, and Finance teams to deliver high-impact capital projects. We are looking for a Senior Adviser Capital Projects to optimize operating expenditure (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX) project envelopes at the site level, in collaboration with the Asset Management, Engineering, and Finance teams. The role provides the opportunity to be part of a regional team allowing the person to work closely with team members in Quebec and Iceland.

Reporting to the CAPEX Director--Integrated Operations, and working Monday to Friday, you will be:

Working in accordance with Rio Tinto Health, Safety and Environmental standards and taking part in our culture of care, courage, and curiosity Managing the site Sustaining, Closure, and Development portfolios including: Responsible for applying as well as guiding and coaching our site teams on Rio Tinto's governance (Portfolio procedure, Project Management Office (PMO) framework, Delegation of Authorities, etc.) to ensure the smooth progress of our projects. Coordinating the quarterly budgeting and planning process for BC Works aligned with the rest of the region Participating in the development of our people Conducting periodic performance management reviews of CAPEX and OPEX projects

What you'll bring



A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, finance, or accounting At least five years of project management experience in an industrial environment Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (i.e.: Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent interpersonal skills The ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team A proven track record as an agent of change Analytical and influential skills

It will also be beneficial if you have:

Knowledge of asset management and/or business improvement processes Experience with SAP (or other Enterprise Resource Planning software) Experience in a financial/accounting function Proficiency with PowerBI

The base salary range for this role is $113,600 - $170,400 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, equity, health or retirement benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Rio Tinto. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, and impact you bring to the role.
