The Corporate Actuarial Services Administrative Department of the Finances sector supporting the P&C Insurance sector as well is looking for a candidate to join it as a Senior Actuarial Advisor. Are you interested in being an integral part of one of our three departments: Reserving, Projects and Investments, Reinsurance and Budget or Financial Condition Testing, Economic Capital and Quality Assurance? General Information on the Position

#What you will do

As a Senior Actuarial Advisor of Corporate Actuarial, you could be responsible, according to the department, for:

Performing analyses for all appropriate products and provinces, while ensuring the integrity of the data produced

Establish the capital requirements

Forecast financial results

Support strategic planning

Manage the reinsurance program

Evaluate risks facing the company

Help establishing the reinsurance strategy

Establish the required reserves

Developing and maintaining reserving and capital as well as various models, analyzing their results and producing reports required by the organization or by the various regulatory bodies

Participating in maintaining reserving, capital and risk managements models as well as evaluation assumptions, while ensuring that they meet the legal and professional industry requirements and monitoring the market in that regard

Ensuring that the needs of the actuarial departments are considered and met

Adapting models and reports to the requirements of IFRS 17 accounting standard

Participating in the continuous improvement of your team\xe2\x80\x99s activities

Coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team

Representing the actuarial department on decision-making committees or in meetings

Workplace: Position located in Montreal, L\xc3\xa9vis, Mississauga or Toronto, depending on the applicant selected. The work arrangement for the position is hybrid work #LI-Hybrid

#What you bring to the table

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or in a related field

A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience

P&C insurance experience

Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

Successful completion of at least three exams of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) or of Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) (Asset)

For vacant positions available in Quebec, please note that knowledge of French is required

Specific knowledge

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SAS, VBA, R, Python

Proficient speaker, advanced knowledge of French both oral and written

Intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with (english)-speaking partners, members and/or clients
