About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Accounting Technician / Bookkeeper to join our collaborative and client-focused team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys building client relationships, and is confident in full-cycle bookkeeping and payroll processes.
You'll be working closely with clients and internal team members, providing essential accounting support and helping businesses run smoothly through accurate and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Delivering full-cycle bookkeeping services across platforms like QuickBooks (Desktop and Online), knowledge of Sage 50 considered a bonus.
Processing payroll and related government remittances
Processing accounts payables
Preparing and filing sales tax returns (HST, GST, PST) and year-end slips (T4, T4A)
Information / Tax Returns T2, T1044, T3010
Completing reconciliations, ROEs, and client financial reports
Supporting clients with cloud-based systems and accounting workflows
Providing ongoing training and support for clients' internal bookkeeping practices
Assisting with onboarding new clients and documenting processes
Mentoring junior team members and contributing to internal training
Ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting and maintaining strong client communication
What We Are Looking ForQualifications & Experience:
Post-secondary education in accounting or a related field
Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in public practice or across multiple clients
Advanced knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage 50, etc.)
Strong Excel skills
Comfortable prioritizing tasks, meeting recurring deadlines, and managing multiple client files
Familiarity with Taxprep (corporate or personal) is a bonus
