Reporting directly to the owner, Tammy Morales, the Senior Accounting Clerk will be a key member of the team, responsible for full cycle accounting and keeping accurate financial records for multiple companies. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to rapidly advance to leading our data entry team. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate financial reporting to our client\'s accountants.
  • Communicate clearly with clients, respond to inquiries and handle accounting issues as they arise.
  • Bank Reconciliation, track and verify loan draws and monitor cash-flow.
  • Accounts payable. Properly code and reconcile. Ensure invoices have been approved. Pay on the agreed-upon terms which may be different for every client.
  • Accounts receivable. Record deposits and apply to the correct invoices. Occasionally follow-up to ensure payment is being processed.
  • Make EFT payments.
  • Prepare and submit GST filings and other source deductions.
  • Payroll, familiar with both Quickbooks payroll and Payworks software.
  • GL account reconciliations and month-end GL entries.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing files, preparatory to giving to CPAs.
Skills and Experience
  • Candidates must have a diploma in accounting and payroll, or minimum 5 years of equivalent experience.
  • Understand complex financial transactions.
  • Able to multi-task.
  • Expertise with Quickbooks Online software: Accounting best practices, including using on-line bank records, Sales Tax module, Billable Expenses, Class/Locations, Custom Reports.
  • Expertise with excel:Pivot tables, Macros, X-look-up, V-look-up, All basic functions such as IF and SUMIFS. Formatting charts and reports enabling clients to understand the results at a glance.
  • French is not required, but would be considered an asset.
Three-month probationary term with salary review after completion Schedule:
  • Flexible 8 hour shift with core hours
  • Expectation of overtime during tax season (January to March)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year Benefits:
