Boost Financing is an Alberta-headquartered powersports brokerage helping customers finance ATVs, side-by-sides, snowmobiles, motorcycles, boats, and RVs across Canada.

Job Overview



We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Controller to own full-cycle accounting, cash-flow forecasting, and payroll. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing the organization's financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing strategic financial guidance. This position requires a strong background in accounting and finance; QST knowledge for filings and compliance with Revenu Quebec and CRA requirements; and proficiency with accounting software.

What You'll Do



Full-cycle accounting:

AP/AR, bank/credit-card reconciliations, month-end close, journal entries, accruals.

Reporting & analysis:

Monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, variance analysis.

Cash flow:

Build and maintain a 13-week rolling cash-flow model; scenario planning.

Sales tax compliance:

GST/HST and QST registrations, filings, and remittances; CRA & Revenu Quebec correspondence.

Payroll:

Payroll runs, source deductions, ROEs, and year-end slips (T4/T4A). (No Quebec payroll required.)*

Controls & processes:

Close checklists, approvals, document retention, vendor onboarding.

Tools:

Zoho Books/CRM (or willingness to migrate from QuickBooks/Sage), Google Sheets/Excel, banking portals.

Ad hoc treasury:

Wire/draft scheduling, payment runs, cost control, audit/compilation prep.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;

CPA

or equivalent certification preferred. Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar corporate finance role. Proven QST filing experience and working knowledge of Quebec tax rules; strong CRA compliance. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP. Proficiency with accounting software such as Zoho Books/CRM, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms. Experience with payroll processing and compliance regulations. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed account analysis and reconciliations. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. Effective communication skills to present financial information clearly to stakeholders at all levels. French an asset (not required).
