We are currently seeking a
Senior Accountant
to join our dynamic finance team in Canada. This position offers the opportunity to work within a global organization that values precision, collaboration, and professional development.
Position Overview
The
Senior Accountant
will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring full compliance with Canadian tax and accounting regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in managing multi-entity accounting structures.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for group companies and subsidiaries.
Ensure all financial statements comply with CIT regulations and Canadian accounting standards.
Prepare management and intercompany reconciliation reports on a monthly basis.
Taxation & Compliance
Prepare and submit VAT declarations, tax returns, and other statutory filings on time.
Coordinate with external tax service providers to ensure compliance with local tax laws.
Maintain and update accounting records in accordance with tax regulations.
Accounting Operations
Verify, code, post, and reconcile financial transactions.
Perform bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closings.
Generate, post, and follow up on invoices and accounts receivable.
Manage daily accounting activities, including purchase orders, receipts, and payment processing.
Project & Management Support
Review invoices and supporting documentation related to construction projects.
Prepare financial reports on project budgets, progress, and completion status.
Assist with cash flow forecasts, budgets, and ad-hoc reports requested by management.
Collaborate with other group companies to collect and consolidate financial data.
Other Duties
Support directors with personal and corporate tax compliance matters.
Handle additional accounting tasks and projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education and Certification:
Inter CA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification.
Experience:
Minimum
5 years of accounting experience in Canada
(required).
Experience in multi-entity or group company accounting is an asset.
Technical Skills:
Strong proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite
(Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and accounting software.
Excellent knowledge of
VAT regulations
and
CIT compliance
.
Soft Skills:
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Professional, presentable, and detail-oriented.
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
Willingness to travel when required.
Preference:
