The business units are supported by enterprise-wide functions that set strategic direction, establish standards and provide governance, as well as supporting the business through shared services, centres of excellence and business partnering.
Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior Accountant, Concentrate Accounting, is responsible for providing a broad range of financial and management information for Concentrate Marketing and Sales, ensuring compliance with all SOX and internal controls, and reporting to external agencies and organizations. This is an 18-24 month long-term temporary position with a potential for extension.
Key Responsibilities

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
Supervise day-to-day activities and motivation of the Accounting Analysts
Review QPs of sales contracts and ensure revaluations are posted accurately as financial instruments, and the company's SIR policy is adhered to before sending Trial Balance entries to the mine sites
Ensure sales recorded balance with mine production; review negotiated terms for treatment and refining charges on the main payables to reasonably reflect benchmark terms. Reconcile any accessorial penalties, price participation, freight parity or other charges against the T/C to ensure adequate T/C's are accounted for
Review the periodical cash forecasts and analyze sensitivity price scenarios on a consolidated basis for the concentrate department for Treasury
Review and timely submission of monthly management reports (Flash Report, Sales into Revenue, Revaluation Reports, Forecast Reports, etc.), ensuring accuracy
Coordinate and analyze working papers for the general ledger, looking for trend analysis and suggesting journal entries to be recorded when needed
Develop, maintain and apply procedural documentation, flow charts, and vital guidelines that promote effective internal controls and an efficient running of the accounting department (SOX Coordinator); Liaise with internal and external auditors
Analyze reports for consolidated business divisions of customers, material types, and gold payments etc.
Liaise with mine sites to cater and develop process refinement to meet users' needs and help them adhere to local compliance for Sales Book purposes.
Work with the Corporate Controller's staff and sites/regions as required to assist in month-end closing, quarterly and annual preparation of financial documents
Qualifications
------------------
Bachelor's Degree required in accounting
A CPA with a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience
Proven understanding of Financial Management, Accounting and Reporting, Financial Analysis
Experience working with internal controls and SOX
Strong ability to build collaborative relationships across functional teams
Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP is an asset
Strong communication skills, Spanish language is an asset
Proven time and priority leadership skills

Salary Range:
CAD $93,330 - $115,290
