Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Senior Accountant
to join our dynamic property accounting team. This leadership role oversees financial reporting, budgeting, and audit coordination for a diverse property portfolio. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of accounting, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to lead and support a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and support the property accounting team as required
Review and implement new budgets and fee schedules into accounting systems
Process monthly Common Element Fees (CEF) for unit owners
Manage vendor payments via Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP) systems
Prepare and post month-end and year-end journal entries
Prepare and/or review bank reconciliations
Respond to financial statement queries from Property Managers and Board Members
Review and oversee monthly financial packages for select managers
Perform monthly reserve fund transfers and investment tracking
Prepare year-end accrual-based financial statements for some small property corporations
Coordinate year-end audits with external auditors
Set up new corporations in financial systems
Supervise and support the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable team
Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in Accounting from a recognized Canadian institution
3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in property management
Strong understanding of accrual accounting and financial reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level)
Knowledge of Yardi and/or ConStar accounting systems is an asset
Familiarity with financial requirements under Ontario's Condominium Act is preferred
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong organizational and leadership skills

Work Schedule: 35 hours a week - Monday-Thursday 8:30 am-5:00 pm, Friday 9:00 am - 12:00 noon
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
