Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, preparing accurate financial statements, ensuring compliance with Canadian accounting standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions. This role requires an experienced professional who can mentor junior staff, streamline financial processes, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.

Duties

Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping. Manage financial accounting tasks, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Odoo to maintain accurate financial records. Mentor junior accountants, providing training and support to enhance their skills and knowledge. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide insights on financial performance and operational efficiency. Conduct regular audits of financial processes to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.

Skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation preferred. Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, ideally in a corporate or public accounting environment. Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, Odoo, or similar). Advanced Excel and analytical skills. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
