We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial services and auditing, with expertise in budgeting and corporate finance. This role is essential for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Senior Accountant will work closely with various departments to streamline processes and enhance financial performance.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory standards. Conduct financial audits to assess the accuracy of accounts and identify discrepancies. Develop, monitor, and manage budgets, providing insights to improve financial efficiency. Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping. Manage payroll functions, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and employee records. Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making. Assist in the implementation of new accounting systems or upgrades to existing systems like Northscopt.

Requirements

5+ years of accounting experience, CPA designation is required Experience with business environment, especially in Seafood Industry is an asset Proven experience in financial services, auditing, budgeting, and corporate finance. Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks and Northscopt. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across departments. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
