Tristone Partners Inc. is a Toronto-based real estate development and construction firm specializing in purpose-built rental multi-residential projects.
Our operations span the full lifecycle of real estate development--from land acquisition and financing through construction and long-term ownership/ management. We work with an external accounting firm for corporate filings and tax returns, while maintaining in-house control of day-to-day accounting, HST, and project-level reporting.
Role Overview
We're seeking an experienced
Senior Accountant
to lead the setup and ongoing management of our
QuickBooks Online system
across multiple entities. The ideal candidate will establish proper accounting structures, manage daily bookkeeping, and ensure accurate financial reporting for each project.
This role also includes responsibility for
ongoing HST filings
,
budget vs. actual tracking
, and
coordination with cost consultants and lenders
for draw submissions, cost reviews, and project expense monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and manage
QuickBooks Online
for multiple related companies (DevCo, BuildCo, and ProjectCos)
Create and maintain a consistent
chart of accounts
, class structure, and project-based cost tracking
Record and reconcile
bank, credit card, and loan
transactions on a regular basis
Track
inter-company loans
, reimbursements, and equity contributions
Prepare and file
HST returns
for all active entities and projects
Coordinate with
cost consultants
and
lenders
for expense tracking, draw submissions, and budget monitoring
Support partners in maintaining accurate
cash flow forecasts
and upcoming funding needs
Generate
monthly financial summaries
(P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, project cost reports)
Maintain vendor and subcontractor records, and manage invoice/payment schedules
Collaborate with the external accounting firm for year-end reviews and filings
Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years' experience
in bookkeeping or accounting (real estate or construction preferred)
Proven experience
setting up and managing QuickBooks Online
for multi-entity businesses
Strong understanding of
inter-company accounting
and project cost tracking
Proficiency in Excel and reconciliation reporting
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
Preferred Skills
Experience with
construction draw reporting
and
holdback accounting
Familiarity with
cost consultant coordination
and
lender reporting
Knowledge of
HST and CRA compliance
Ability to collaborate effectively with partners, consultants, and external accountants
Experience implementing process improvements across multiple entities
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Freelance
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
