Location : Full time, on-site. This position is based at our office in the Armstrong, BC Industrial Park.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in reviewing A/R, A/P, Payroll, and reporting systems ensuring compliance
  • Participate in the annual budget process for the company
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financials
  • Implement and ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal reporting requirements
  • Prepare accounting files as directed for external review
  • Work with government agencies, auditors, etc., when requested
  • Assist in the management of cash flow reporting and requirements
  • Provide accounting support and reports to division heads as needed
  • Lead the transition to a paperless time and attendance system
  • Achieve a 10-day close at the end of each December
  • Ad hoc reporting and other duties as assigned by the Controller
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in accounting systems and software, budgets, internal controls, business planning, and reporting
  • Professional Designation (CPA) \xe2\x80\x93 preferred, not required
  • Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining high-quality results
  • Detail-oriented, with a meticulous approach to work
  • A natural curiosity, an eagerness to learn, and receptive to coaching and constructive feedback
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, with personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Commitment to maintaining all qualifications, certifications, and continued professional development
