Manager / Senior Manager / Partner

Job description/duties:

Under the supervision of their respective Manager, Senior Manager, and/or Partner, the Senior Accountant, Public Companies is responsible for the completion of routine and complex engagements, and the organization and management of all client engagements. The Senior Accountant, Public Companies, is responsible for the coordination and direction of junior team members towards meeting client and firm expectations. Key job duties include:

Applying technical knowledge and research in formulating client and firm related recommendations

Working with the engagement manager, anticipating engagement issues and risks, assessing alternatives and taking appropriate action

Training and mentoring junior team members and providing feedback to ensure they are able to make improvements on subsequent engagements

Building effective working relationships with client contacts, and responding effectively to client requests

Coordinating more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting team and other departments

Assisting with the management of clients and fostering excellent relationships while seeking out new business opportunities

Communicating with other members of the client service team, including partners and managers, ensuring client expectations are met and managed in a timely manner

Actively supporting and participating in firm wide initiatives

Participating in the firm's Team Development and Performance Management Program

Promoting the firm's Quality Control Standards

Skills requirements:



Designated CPA

At least 1 year experience post-CPA designation

At least 3 years experience with public company audit and assurance work

Demonstrated expert knowledge of relevant Canadian and US Auditing Standards, and IFRS. US GAAP is an asset.

Strong working knowledge of accounting systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

At least 1 year experience managing and mentoring Junior Accountants.

Terms of employment:

Permanent, full-time

Wage:

$85,000 - 104,000 per annum, plus annual discretionary bonus/overtime. Subject to the company's performance review, compensation may be increased in the future.
