JOB SUMMARY
Performs more complex accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization's financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. Reconcile complex accounts and check the accuracy of journal entries to ensure that the general ledger is accurate and complete. Check and analyze financial information and prepare more complex financial reports and accounting statements so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making financial decisions. These reports may include profit and loss statements, balance sheets, depreciation statements, cash flow, debtor and creditor lists, repayment schedules, regulatory reports and filings. Provide technical accounting advice within area of expertise to functional or operational areas managers to help them develop revenue and expense budgets, understand financial reports, and manage their financial responsibilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Performs month end close.
Responsible for doing GL research, identification of posting errors, managing hundreds of transactions daily, getting and reconciling error/variance messages.
Acts as asset custodian.
Oversees capital projects.
Acts as liaison for external audits plus bank relationship.
Reconciles bank and GL accounts monthly.
Responsible for state and use tax filings, personal property tax filings, and franchise tax filings.
Handles journal entries, bank related transactions (funding accounts, pos pay file),
GL coding (including final authority for GL account posting).
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to work in a fast paced, high volume environment, and have a strong attention to detail. Must be a proactive "self-starter" who can work well without supervision. Requires prior accounting experience in a business environment. Must possess strong math and analytical skills, verbal and written communication skills. Experience using JD Edwards, FAS software and crystal report writing. Ability to work under deadlines with accuracy. Requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting and five to seven years of experience. May require a CPA certification.
INTER-RELATIONSHIPS
Direction is given by the Controller. Regular interface with all levels of corporate employees and contact with field management. May interface with external vendors and auditors as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Smoke-free, professional office environment. Workstation may be in a high traffic area within a busy department. Standard workweek is 40 hours, with ability to work over time when needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have ability to use hands and fingers to complete tasks quickly and efficiently. In addition, must have the ability to move freely throughout the facility without physical limitation, and capacity to sit for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs., and have the ability to bend, stoop and reach.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
