Senior Accountant

to manage core accounting functions and ensure financial accuracy, compliance, and reporting excellence.

Position Summary



The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with CRA requirements, managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, preparing financial reports, and maintaining accurate financial records using

QuickBooks

. This role works closely with senior management and external auditors.

Key Responsibilities



Accounting & Financial Operations



Manage full-cycle accounting operations using

QuickBooks

Oversee

Accounts Payable (AP)

and

Accounts Receivable (AR)

Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, collections, and vendor payments Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with Canadian accounting standards

Tax & CRA Compliance



Prepare and file

GST/HST

, payroll deductions, and other CRA remittances Ensure compliance with

CRA regulations

and respond to CRA inquiries Support corporate tax preparation in coordination with external tax advisors Maintain organized documentation for audits and tax reviews

Financial Reporting & Analysis



Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Produce management reports, variance analyses, and forecasts Support budgeting and cash flow management Assist with year-end close and external audits

Internal Controls & Process Improvement



Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and company policies Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and accuracy Support compliance with corporate governance and defence-sector requirements

Qualifications & Experience



Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

CPA designation

(CPA, CPA-CA, CPA-CMA, or CPA-CGA) desirable Minimum

5-8 years of progressive accounting experience

Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks (mandatory)

Strong experience with

CRA filings, GST/HST, payroll, AP/AR

Solid knowledge of Canadian accounting standards Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or defence-related environments is an asset
