Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing full-cycle accounting processes, preparing accurate financial statements, and supporting both routine reporting and special projects. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, experience with audits (sell- or buy-side), and a solid foundation in financial reporting under US GAAP. The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Senior Accounting Manager, external auditors, and cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting processes.

Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Accounting & Reporting:
Manage all aspects of the full-cycle accounting processes, including inventory, PP&E, leases, debt, payroll, stock-based compensation, and month end accruals.
Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close working papers.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), ensuring compliance with US GAAP.
Support the preparation of consolidation schedules and working papers for multi-entity reporting
Perform variance and budget-to-actual analysis, including reconciliations of intercompany transactions and eliminations.
Assist in the preparation and review of management reporting packages.
Audit & Compliance:
Coordinate with external auditors to provide supporting documentation for interim and year-end financial audits.
Prepare audit-ready working papers, including tie-outs, schedules, and reconciliations.
Assist in the evaluation and implementation of internal controls over financial reporting.
Support indirect tax compliance (GST, VAT, Sales & Use), ensuring timely and accurate filings.
Financial Analysis & Support:
Prepare ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions and special projects.
Assist in the development of financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and transaction reviews.
Support M&A and due diligence processes by preparing data rooms, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
Process Improvement:
Partner with the Senior Accounting Manager to identify and implement improvements in accounting processes, systems, and reporting.
Contribute to the development of manuals and process documentation.
Support the implementation and optimization of ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage, or comparable).
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support:
Work closely with finance, tax, and operations teams to ensure alignment in reporting and compliance.
Liaise with auditors, consultants, and external advisors on accounting and compliance matters.
Provide technical accounting support for complex transactions, including revenue recognition, leases, and financial instruments.
Requirements and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA designation required.
4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (audit) or industry exposure.
Strong knowledge of US GAAP, with experience preparing financial statements and audit packages.
Experience with sell-side or buy-side audit processes (M&A or due diligence experience an asset).
Strong understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements.
Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage, or comparable) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial information.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
