It is headquartered in Brownsville, Wisconsin, USA.The Senior Accountant will play a vital role in supporting the Financial Controller with financial management, including maintaining financial records, processing transactions and financial reporting. This position is based in our head office located in Nisku, Alberta.Responsibilities:1. Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
2. Assist in the preparation of month end financial statements by working closely with the operations and corporate services teams.
3. Assist management in the preparation of the weekly cash forecast by working with project teams and corporate services teams.
4. Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations for various bank accounts in multiple currencies.
5. Process GST/HST and other tax remittances and payments in a timely fashion.
6. Applying relevant accounting standards in the maintenance of the fixed asset schedule including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
7. Manage day to day cash management requirements, which include investment activities, foreign exchange transactions.
8. Assist with the preparation of intercompany reconciliations with parent company. Which includes settling payments and the calculation of withholding taxes.
9. Assist with maintenance of accounting systems and software.
10. Provide guidance and support to junior team members.
11. Participate in month end close, including the preparation of month end entries.
12. Assist with the external interim and annual audit.
