Tidal CFO helps growing organizations gain financial clarity, confidence, and control. We are a modern, remote-first finance firm providing fractional CFO, controller, and bookkeeping services to Canadian startups, nonprofits, and SMEs, with roots in Atlantic Canada.
Our CPA-led team blends hands-on accounting support with strategic financial leadership. We act as trusted advisors, building strong internal systems, leveraging modern cloud-based tools, and creating efficient, scalable processes that support our clients' growth.
At the same time, we are building a collaborative, high-performing team that values accountability, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
We are looking to expand our team with a highly organized, self-motivated Senior Accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated by continuous learning and career growth.
The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accountant to support our client engagements by delivering accurate financial reporting and maintaining strong accounting foundations. This role reports directly to management and plays a critical part in executing month-end close, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting operations across multiple clients.
As a Senior Accountant, you will be hands-on in the preparation and review of financial information while collaborating closely with management. While Tidal CFO operates as a remote first firm, this role requires a willingness to spend time onsite at client offices or places of work when appropriate to support relationship-building, onboarding, and key deliverables. You will help ensure data integrity, support system improvements, and contribute to a consistent, high-quality client experience.
This role is ideal for an experienced accountant who enjoys ownership of their work, thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing environment, and wants exposure to advisory-focused accounting within a fast-growing, dynamic firm with a clear path to advancement into a Manager role.
If you're a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise and a passion for client delivery, we want to hear from you!

3. Maintain Systems & Process Integrity

Follow documented processes while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and consistency
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across tools, templates, and workflows
4. Collaborate with Managers & Internal Teams
Work closely with Managers to meet deadlines and deliver consistent client outcomes
Communicate clearly and professionally with internal team members and clients as needed
Support internal quality control processes by preparing accurate documentation and anticipating review needs
Act as a coach and mentor to junior and intermediate accountants by providing guidance, reviewing work, sharing best practices, and supporting their professional development
Contribute to building a strong, collaborative team culture grounded in learning and accountability
