to join our Finance Department at ICON Digital Productions. The Senior Accountant is responsible for accounts receivable collections, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and supporting strategic financial planning. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. In addition to overseeing day-to-day and month-end accounting, reporting, analysis and control activities.
Primary Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to, and are subject to change:
AR Operation:
Day-to-day AR operations, including billing, collections, and cash applications.
Ensure invoices are issued accurately and in a timely manner, aligned with purchase orders and contracts.
Oversee and reconcile customer accounts regularly to ensure accuracy.
Monitor AR aging and follow up on past-due accounts to minimize DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).
Establish and maintain efficient AR policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial data.
General Ledger Management:
Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Oversee journal entries, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
Perform month-end and year-end close processes.
Compliance & Audit:
Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and analysis.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations and best practices.
Accounts Management:
Review/Revise & Implement Accounts Payable and Receivable processes.
Oversee reconciliations of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
Process Improvement:
Develop and implement improved accounting systems, processes, and controls.
Support automation and digital transformation initiatives in finance.
Leadership & Collaboration:
Mentor junior accountants and support staff.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., HR, Operations, Procurement) to ensure financial alignment.
Skills and Experience
University or college degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
Minimum 6-8 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment or public accounting firm.
Proficient in financial accounting software (Sage), as well as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Word.
Strong Excel Skills.
Motivated self-starter who works as a supportive team player.
Superior judgment in accounting, governance, and related operational issues.
Ability to work well under pressure with multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical, organization, planning and execution skills.
Working towards CPA accounting designation (an asset).
