Our client is searching for a Senior Accountant who displays a self-starting and motivated attitude. The highly detailed individual will work closely with the controller to manage all full-cycle accounting processes, and other members of the accounting team. This role will appeal to a recently designated CPA or an individual who is working towards their designation.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:

  • Supervise and provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team
  • Participate in cross training to support relevant areas as required
  • Completing journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly financial packages
  • Process, manage, and collect on all accounts receivable. Create and process all monthly intercompany invoices
  • Prepare monthly draw requests, including document delivery and communication with cost consultants
  • Day to day duties including vendor and customer management with the help of the other members of our accounting team.
  • Accurately record invoices in QuickBooks, and coordinate approval from project managers
  • Review of budgets and job cost reports
  • Review monthly visa/bank reconciliations
  • Responsible for processing and collection of monthly rental revenue from our property management division (Recording damage deposits, nsf's, late payments, etc.)
Your strengths include:
  • CPA designation or working towards designation
  • 3+ years experience in an accounting firm is preferred
  • A firm understanding of full cycle accounting with duties that include cash flow management, month end reporting, and participation in year-end reviews with an external accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office
  • Experience working in construction industry a strong asset
  • Thrive working in a fast-paced, small team environment
  • Ability to switch gears easily and handle multiple tasks at once
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
