We are seeking a full time, detail oriented and experienced CPA to join our busy public accounting firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial statement preparation, account analysis and both corporate and personal income tax preparation. The candidate will manage their own clients and work towards future partnership in the firm, if desired. Responsibilities
Preparing compilation and review engagement files, financial statements, corporate income tax returns, year-end closing and reporting, and government reporting (i.e. quarterly GST remittances and payroll)
Supervising the preparation of financial statements and tax returns of business clients, reviewing the work of staff accountants, and completing complex portions of the file
Maintaining high quality control by overseeing and reviewing compilation and review engagements
Preparing T4's, T5's, personal income tax returns, and other tax returns and schedules, as required
Maintaining client files to ensure accurate and timely completion of returns and schedules
Communicating and meeting directly with clients

Skills:
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Knowledge of relevant accounting frameworks and file documentation best practices
Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE)
Agricultural knowledge and experience would be a huge asset
Strong computer skills (especially in Microsoft Office)
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Education & Experience:
CPA designation, with a minimum of 3-5 years public practice experience dealing with the accounting and taxation needs of private companies and their shareholders
Comprehensive experience in compilation and review preparation
Experience leading and supervising staff is an asset
