Job Description

As Senior Accountant, you are responsible for ensuring that Rohit's financial records are accurate and complete. You will be responsible for reporting and compliance, cash flow monitoring and forecasting.


Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant - Communities plays a critical role in preparing and reviewing financial statements and ensuring the accuracy of reporting for all entities within the land development portfolio. This role manages key aspects of month-end and year-end close processes, conducts financial analyses, and provides oversight to ensure alignment with corporate structure and legal entity records. The Senior Accountant also supports junior team members through training and guidance, contributing to the ongoing development and efficiency of the accounting function.


Key Responsibilities





Financial Reporting & Analysis



Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual divisional financial statements. Conduct first-level review of financial statements for all standalone entities. Ensure financial reporting aligns with the current legal entity structure, Bare Trustee listings, and project activity statuses.

Month-End & Year-End Close



Oversee the timely completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Collaborate with internal departments to gather accurate data and reconcile discrepancies during the close cycle. Monitor timelines and deliverables to ensure reporting deadlines are consistently met.

Team Development & Reporting Tools



Train and support Junior and Intermediate Accountants within the Communities accounting team. Utilize Solver to analyze and enhance reporting capabilities and develop efficiencies in financial reporting. Provide ongoing feedback and support to enhance team knowledge and performance.

Education Requirements:




CPA or equivalent designation Bachelor's Degree (Preferred in one of the following fields): Accounting Finance

Essential Skills and Competencies:




Technical Accounting & Financial Acumen



Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation, account reconciliation, and general accounting principles. Ability to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies, ensuring accurate and compliant reporting.

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills



Proficient in financial analysis and variance investigation. Comfortable using Solver or similar tools for financial reporting and analysis.

Team Leadership & Communication



Skilled in mentoring junior staff and offering constructive guidance. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across teams and support cross-functional initiatives.
