Job Title: Senior Accountant

About the Company

The Rig Shop is a well-established, privately owned manufacturing company based in Edmonton. We are known for our quality products, strong customer relationships, and collaborative team environment. We are currently seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting operations.

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing all aspects of full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and compliance for the company. This role plays a key part in supporting management with accurate financial information, strong internal controls, and continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee full-cycle accounting, including: Accounts payable and accounts receivable Payroll processing and ROEs Month-end and year-end close Bank and credit card reconciliations General ledger and journal entries Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements Manage inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS), and manufacturing variances Prepare and file GST and other government remittances Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Coordinate year-end audit and work with external accountants Maintain and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures Provide financial insights to ownership and management
Qualifications & Experience

5-8+ years of full-cycle accounting experience Manufacturing and inventory experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of: Canadian payroll and source deductions GST compliance Inventory and cost accounting Strong Excel skills and experience with Acumatica preferred High attention to detail with strong communication and organizational skills

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
