A Senior Accountant position is available at my client's well-established construction company located in south Edmonton.
Overview:
8am - 5pm Monday to Friday.

Critical role that supports management and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Full-cycle bookkeeping and reporting.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Monitor vendor statements, resolve discrepancies and ensure documentation is complete.
Oversee and assist with collections.
Process accurate and timely payroll and ensure compliance for WCB, CRA, ROEs and T4s.
Monitor subcontractor payments, ensure compliance and issue T5018s.
Develop and maintain detailed job costing and budget-to-actual reviews.
Oversee quarterly GST reporting, filings, and government remittances.
Complete monthly bank, credit card, and loan account reconciliations.
Prepare internal financial reports, cash-flow summaries, and project-level statements.
Maintain precise and organized financial records within QBO.
Oversee budget management and provide weekly and monthly reporting on performance.
Provide ownership with financial insights, forecasting support, and recommendations.
Support quarterly and year-end reporting as required.
Close communication with field operations and estimators as required.
Maintain confidentiality of financial and personnel information.
Qualifications:
5+ years of bookkeeping experience in construction.
QBO experience an asset and working knowledge of MS office and excel.
Strong full cycle accounting knowledge.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic construction environment.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies quickly.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.
Excellent follow-up and communication skills across multiple departments.
Experience managing high-volume job costing and multi-project environments.
Ability to handle changing priorities and tight deadlines.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
Must be able to work full-time on-site at our Edmonton office.
Compensation:
Salary range of $65-85 K depending on experience.
Medical / dental benefits after 90 days probation (includes health spending account).
