The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Coastal GasLink Accounting team within the Canadian Natural Gas Pipeline (CNGP) Financial Services group. Reporting to the Manager, Coastal GasLink and Project Accounting, you will play a key role in preparing, reviewing, and communicating financial information for the Coastal GasLink (CGL) Pipeline Project. This role also supports a range of operational, commercial, and financing initiatives.
What you'll doPrepare and review internal financial reports, budgets, and forecasts Collaborate with CGL project, accounting, financial planning & analysis and other teams to complete month-end activities Support the preparation of financial statements for equity partners and lenders (monthly, quarterly, annually) Address external auditor requests related to accounting and reporting Act as a primary contact for financial analysis and accounting matters Analyze financial data and processes to identify improvements Develop and maintain Excel models for accounting, reporting and compliance Partner with internal teams on commercial, operational, and financing initiatives

Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree from a recognized post-secondary institution CPA designation At least 6 years of progressive accounting experience

Preferred QualificationsStrong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement Excellent financial analysis, reporting, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines with minimal supervision Proven team player with strong collaboration skills Advanced Excel skills, including model optimization Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP or other accounting standards Understanding of financing arrangements is an asset Experience with SAP, BPC, Workiva, SharePoint, Teams, and/or Power BI considered an asset
