Position Overview:



We are seeking an experienced

Senior Accountant

to join our dynamic team and manage full-cycle accounting operations across US and Canadian entities while supporting inventory management and international trade activities. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a diverse, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You'll gain exposure to multiple industries while developing your expertise in manufacturing and cross-border accounting.

This role required fluent professional English proficiency (verbal and written) as an essential function of the position.

You'll be communicating regularly with teams across Canada, the USA, and Portugal, collaborating with international partners where English serves as our common business language. Success in this role depends on your ability to clearly articulate complex financial concepts, conduct variance analysis, prepare comprehensive reports, and engage confidently in detailed financial discussions across multicultural teams.

We're seeking a detail-oriented professional who excels in team leadership, financial reporting, and compliance, and who can bring both technical expertise and strong communication skills to support our expanding international operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:



Financial Reporting & Analysis:

Perform monthly closing procedures with accuracy and timeliness. Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting packages. Conduct variance analysis for multiple US and Canadian companies. Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting. Support annual year-end engagements, including financial reviews and corporate tax returns. Communicate financial results and recommendations effectively to management teams.
Inventory & Operations:

Track inventory and freight using the weighted average methodology for manufacturing and retail operations. Perform bank, inventory, and capital asset reconciliations with exceptional attention to detail. Process freight adjustments and obsolescence reviews. Generate and analyze inventory control reports, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement. Coordinate year-end inventory counts with operations staff across locations. Assist with import/export activities as well as customs documentation. Collaborate with international partners in the USA and Portugal on importing activities and customer coordination. Support the rollout of consistent standard operating procedures (SOPs) across international locations, requiring clear documentation and cross-cultural communication.
Team Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with operations, logistics, and management teams to ensure seamless financial processes. Provide clear explanations of financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. Participate in cross-functional projects supporting our growing retail business.

Qualifications:



The following qualifications are required for this position:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. 3-5 years of full-cycle accounting experience. Experience with QuickBooks Online. Experience with supervising junior accountants. Demonstrated professional English communication skills with experience working in multicultural business environments. Strong proficiency in communicating financial information clearly to stakeholders at all levels. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word with emphasis on accuracy and efficiency. Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Strong analytical mindset with ability to identify discrepancies and recommend solutions. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a collaborative team. Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
The following qualifications are considered strong assets:

CPA designation (or actively pursuing) Experience in retail accounting operations. Experience in inventory control and management within manufacturing or production environments. Experience in multi-entity or international accounting. Knowledge of import/export procedures, customs regulations, and cross-border trade documentation. Experience with inventory costing methodologies and freight accounting. Familiarity with weighted average inventory valuation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
