Job Description

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in managing the day-to-day accounting and
financial reporting activities for a network of privately owned radiology clinics. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, supporting clinic operations through insightful analysis, and assisting with the continuous improvement of financial systems and processes. Reporting to the Controller, this role is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance with Canadian accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities



Financial Reporting & Accounting

Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements for multiple clinic
locations and entities.

Maintain general ledgers and ensure accuracy of all journal entries, reconciliations,
and accruals.

Oversee intercompany transactions and consolidations. Support year-end financial audit and liaise with external auditors.
Operational Finance Support

Support payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing cycle management
(including AHS billing, third-party insurer claims and private patient payments)

Prepare monthly physician commission statements and periodic reconciliations Assist with cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
Process Improvement & Compliance

Identify and implement process efficiencies and internal control enhancements across entities. Ensure compliance with Canadian accounting standards (ASPE) and applicable tax
regulations.

Support system upgrades, integrations, or transitions related to accounting and
reporting tools.

Maintain documentation for accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Qualifications



Education & Designation

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation (or working towards completion) required.

Experience



Minimum 1-3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within healthcare, professional services or multi-entity environments. Experience with clinic or healthcare operations accounting considered a strong asset. Proficient in full-cycle accounting, financial reporting and consolidation.
Technical Skills

Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, QuickBooks Enterprise, or similar ERP systems). Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI or similar tools is an asset. Familiarity with medical billing systems and EMR integration preferred.
Soft Skills

Strong attention to detail and analytical ability. Excellent organizational, communication and time-management skills. Commitment to achieving deadlines Proven ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Professional integrity and a commitment to confidentiality.
