Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced

Senior Accountant

to manage full-cycle accounting operations across multiple US and Canadian entities while supporting inventory management and international trade activities for our retail division. This role requires someone who can multi-task in a fast-paced environment, excels in team leadership, reporting, compliance, and financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

(including but not limited to):

Financial Reporting & Analysis

Perform monthly closing procedures with accuracy and timeliness. Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting packages. Conduct variance analysis for multiple US and Canadian companies. Assist with annua budgeting and forecasting. Support annual year-end engagements, including financial reviews and corporate tax returns.
Inventory & Operations

Track inventory and freight using weighted average methodology. Perform bank, inventory, and capital asset reconciliations. Process freight adjustments and obsolescence reviews. Generate inventory control reports. Oversee coordination of year-end inventory counts with operations staff. Assist with importing and customer activities. Support the rollout of consistent standard operating procedures (SOPs) across international locations. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA/CA designation (or actively pursuing) an asset. 3-5 years of full-cycle accounting experience. Experience in the manufacturing or production industry. Experience in inventory control and management an asset. Experience in multi-entity or international accounting is an asset. Knowledge of import/export procedures and customs regulations. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word with emphasis on accuracy and efficiency. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Strong problem solving and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
