Position Summary

We are seeking a

Senior Accountant

with strong tax expertise to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone with public practice experience who enjoys working on complex tax files, mentoring junior staff, and contributing to a dynamic firm culture.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Planning

Prepare and review personal, corporate, trust, and partnership tax returns (T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, T5013, GST, T2054 and T2057) Conduct year-end tax planning for various clients. Identify tax-saving opportunities and recommend strategies tailored to client needs. Research complex tax issues and provide practical, client-focused solutions. Communicate with CRA and other tax authorities regarding instalments, assessments, and information requests.

Accounting & Review Engagements

Review and sign off on compilations, reviews, and financial statements. Troubleshoot discrepancies in file preparation and escalate technical issues to managers or partners. Use CaseWare and other accounting software to prepare financial statements and working papers.

Client Relations & Team Collaboration

Provide attentive and personalized service to clients. Communicate directly with clients via phone, video, email, and messaging platforms. Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive team culture.

Qualifications

CPA designation (CGA, CA, or equivalent) is an asset but not required. Minimum 5 years of experience in Canadian public practice, with a strong focus on tax. Proficiency in CaseWare, TaxPrep, iFirm, QuickBooks. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Experience with review engagements and advisory projects is an asset.

Pay: $56,235.11-$96,279.03 per year
