Position Snapshot



Rock Solid Supply (RSS) is looking for a talented

Senior Accountant

to take ownership of our day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close. This part-time, non-supervisory role is perfect for a detail-oriented, self-motivated accountant who thrives in an independent, hands-on environment and has experience in manufacturing and ERP systems. You'll partner closely with our fractional CFO to deliver timely financial insights that drive business decisions.

What You'll Do



Daily Accounting Operations



Review and approve AP entries and audit for accuracy (Traild software) Oversee timely invoicing and AR follow-ups, monitor deposits and deductions Post and reconcile daily cash receipts and maintain cash balances Prepare rolling 12-week cashflow updates Perform daily bank reconciliations

Month-End Close



Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries (accruals, prepaids, depreciation, inventory adjustments, FX, intercompany) Complete full reconciliation schedules for AR/AP, inventory, prepaids, payroll, intercompany balances, and more Own the month-end close checklist, ensuring accuracy and flagging variances or risks

Inventory & Cost Accounting



Maintain accurate inventory valuation across Canada & the U.S. Reconcile landed costs, support standard cost updates, and investigate discrepancies Review freight, duties, and overseas shipping allocations; reconcile WIP and usage variances

Financial Reporting & Analysis



Provide schedules for forecasting and analysis Maintain organized files for quarterly and year-end reviews Support external accountants with tax filings

Compliance, Controls & Systems



Maintain SOPs and ensure adherence to approval/coding policies Prepare audit schedules and support HST, payroll, WSIB, and CRA compliance Maintain compliance calendars for statutory deadlines: Track and manage all recurring regulatory, tax, and statutory filing deadlines, including HST/GST, payroll taxes, WSIB, year-end audits, and corporate filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions etc. Support ERP (Syspro) structures, automation, upgrades, and system integrations

Cross-Functional Collaboration



Partner with Operations & Supply Chain on inventory movements and audits Provide cost and margin analysis for Sales and Customer Service

Continuous Improvement



Identify inefficiencies and propose solutions Support Lean/Kaizen initiatives and automation of reporting/reconciliation templates Assist with BI tools and analytics

What We're Looking For



Post-secondary education in Accounting; CPA designation is preferred At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance Strong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP/IFRS) Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred Advanced proficiency in accounting systems and financial/ERP software (Syspro preferred), and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Power BI, etc.) High accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills Proven ability to challenge existing processes and implement continuous improvement efforts Ability to work independently in a self-managing structure Strong communication skills across teams and functions
