Seed Plant Operator

Overview:

Join our team as a Seed Plant Operator where you will play a vital role in overseeing plant operations and ensuring the efficient functioning of equipment. As a Seed Plant Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the elevator and seed plant equipment, ensuring the efficient and safe handling of grain and seeds

Duties:

- Operate, maintain, and monitor grain receiving and storage equipment such as seed cleaners, separators, graders, treaters, packaging equipment, and conveyor systems, augers, forklifts, and other farming equipment as required. Load and unload trucks, railcars, and shipping containers.

- Inspect seeds for impurities, damage, moisture content, or contamination to ensure they meet quality standards. Monitor and regularly maintain processing equipment to ensure it functions correctly to ensure optimal performance. Perform accurate weighing and sampling of incoming grain.

- Conduct regular maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.

- Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and address any equipment issues promptly.

- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth plant operations.

- Monitor and control plant processes to achieve production goals efficiently.

Skills:

- Previous experience operating grain handling or seed processing equipment is required.

- Ability to maintain and repair equipment using hand tools and power tools.

- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting machinery problems.

- Basic math skills for measuring quantities and calculating requirements.

- Basic computer skills for data entry and equipment monitoring.
