Seed Analyst - Discovery Seed Labs Ltd., Saskatoon, SK Position start date: November 2023 Position term: Seasonal: 6 months, with the possibility of permanent employment Discovery Seed Labs Ltd. is an independent commercial laboratory that focuses on serving the scientific and technical needs of the domestic and global seed industry. As a result of our varied and combined backgrounds Discovery Seed Labs has become an industry leader for seed testing in Western Canada We are hiring a qualified seed analyst, who is fully or partially accredited in germination and purity testing. We are looking for a motivated individual who loves variety, communicates effectively and has strong organizational skills. Qualifications: - Accreditation from CFIA in purity and germination
- Minimum education: High School Diploma or GED
- True Loose Smut and Grader accreditations is an asset
- Agriculture background is an asset
- Excellent computer skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to work well with others, and great communication skills. Responsibilities: - To conduct purity and germination testing according to Canadian and AOSA rules.
- To conduct REGAL and APHIS testing.
- Be able to prioritize tasks during peak periods, and able to thrive in a fast paced, detail-oriented environment.
- Keeping large amounts of paperwork organized
