Position Overview
Reporting to the Site Security Manager, this key leadership/system coordinator position supports and
guides the Paladin Security Team serving the Sarnia site. Primary responsibilities will include system
oversite and stewardship within the Imperial Oil Global Operation Integrity Management System (OIMS),
relative to the Security Program Review for the Sarnia Site.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of OH&S Acts, Codes and Regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive leadership style with emphasis on team building.
  • Experience in Jobsite Inspection and Behaviour Based Observation.
  • Ability to analyze data for trends and develop corrective action plans following the FRCS process as well as report flagged items to SSC and Site Security Manager.
  • Advanced knowledge of Field Level Risk Assessment.
  • Ability to analyze data for trends and develop corrective actions within security program.
  • Proven ability to create a safety culture encouraging positive work behaviour and supportive management practices.
  • Ability to prepare, organize and manage effective safety meetings and safety presentations.
  • Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement within role.
Network Demands
The Security Systems Coordinator position entails being available to IOL Site Security upon request to address service demands.

Communication Skills
The Security Systems Coordinator position requires excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Physical Demands

This position is mostly stationed out of an office. At times physical demands may be required.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred qualifications for this Security Systems Coordinator position includes experienced access systems and knowledge in OH&S. Additional training or education in related field an asset.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a Paladin/IOL security leadership role.
  • Minimum Grade 12 and post-secondary education in safety and/or security preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a proactive leadership style.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to create and maintain electronic procedures and templates.
  • Must be willing to be clean-shaven (site safety requirement).
  • The successful candidate must complete an interview with Paladin Management.
Essential Job Functions and Duties:
  • Acts as an advisor with Site Security Manager to security guards in all matters on site.
  • Stewards and serves as a role model for the security program.
  • Reviews and attests job-specific Job Loss Analysis and Post Orders.
  • Provides training and/or coaching to the security team.
  • Responsible for site security safety program (OIMS, Genetec, CCTV) stewardship.
  • Produces and maintains security and safety reporting formats.
  • Develop and maintain all security SharePoint documentation and plans.
  • Data Inputting for LPS documents.
  • Upkeep of Post Orders, Security General Post Orders both SharePoint and hard copies.
  • Work with Site Security Manager and SSC on site Security Program Review\xe2\x80\x99s/SPR, including conducting reviews and entering data into Impact.
  • Schedule meetings and track meeting minutes.
  • Working with Site Security Manager and SSC on SSAP Matrix stewardship, updating and input of data points.
  • Provide support producing the newsletter.
  • Assist Site Security Manager with Global Security reporting (Impact).
  • Involved in department strategic planning, training and evaluation.
  • Provide support in absence of Site Security Manager.
  • Participate in incident investigation.
  • Oversee site Emerge program.
  • Work closely with the Site Security Manager on daily issues that come up.
  • Review and attest job-specific Job Loss Analysis / Hazard ID\xe2\x80\x99s / NLI Cards.
  • With the Site Security Manager, produce and maintain security and safety reporting formats and work directly with the Imperial Buddy Manager, SSC for security. Including field and desktop quality checks.
  • Update safety KPI\xe2\x80\x99s for the department.
  • Coordinate off-site training and communicate effectively with local Paladin branch management.
  • Provide oversite on training provided to all new Security Guards coming to the site.

prerequisites:
1. Immunization Record
2. Full Covid Vaccine
3. A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
4. Proficient in English (both oral and written)
5. A Valid Ontario Driver\xe2\x80\x99s Licence with clean driver\xe2\x80\x99s abstract

Successful completion of the following requirements provided by Paladin are mandatory prior to
placement:
1. Basic Safety Orientation
2. Report Writing
3. Additional courses as assigned

Certification Requirements (All)

Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
Valid Ontario Security License
